  1. MIDex 1.0b5; a BBEdit extension

  4. This BBEdit extension translates characters from/to the Macintosh charset
  5. to/from ISO-Latin-1 or DOS.
  6.  
  7. It has been inspired by Sami-Jaakko Tikka's "Change Charset", but uses
  8. J.P. Kuypers' famous translation tables for the Mac-ISO-translation.
  9.  
  10. The Mac-DOS translation tables are mine and should not be considered
  11. as "final" (hence the "b"(eta) in the version number), though they work
  12. quite well at this state. Please send me any suggestions/corrections.

  14. As an extra, you may edit (with ResEdit) a third pair of translation
  15. tables, so that they fit your own special needs. (This is not documented,
  16. so you should know what you are doing. ;-))

  19. The usage is similar to that of Sami-Jaakko's program:
  20.  
  21.   The conversion can be done in place, to a new window or
  22.   the converted text can be copied to the clipboard.
  23.   If there's a selection, MIDex will act on the selection,
  24.   otherwise it will process the whole window.
  25.  
  26. This extension is Freeware.

  28. (Note: MIDex replaces .../text/bbedit-mac-iso-10b2.hqx)
